X-ray Ed

X-ray Ed

Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and Wild in Art have teamed up to present The Big Sleuth (Sleuth is the collective noun for a group of bears).
Birmingham has brought the sun bear, the world’s smallest species of bear (now threatened with extinction), to the region for the second free, public-art trail which runs from Monday 20 July to Sunday 17 September 2017.
The bears will be auctioned in October to raise vital funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

X-ray Ed was selected and sponsored by Aston Medical School. My design acknowledges that the first x-ray ever taken for clinical use in the UK was created in Birmingham by John Hall Edwards in 1896 at the General Hospital. The building now houses the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
