Sweet Surrender
£180.00
Framed original cyanotype on conservation quality 300gsm white watercolour paper, with silver metal leaf detail. Presented in a white conservation quality mount with white wooden frame.
Made using fresh mistletoe that I sourced locally. Mistletoe is known as a symbol of love and is associated with kissing. The origins of kissing under the mistletoe are often traced to a tale in Norse mythology about the god Baldur. In the tale Frigg declares the mistletoe to be a symbol of love after her son’s death and promises to kiss anyone who passed underneath it.
If you would like to know more about the cyanotype process you can read about it on my blog.
