Swansong

£200.00

Framed original cyanotype on conservation quality 300gsm white watercolour paper, with gold metal leaf detail.  Presented in a white conservation quality mount with white wooden frame.

This work is about the current British rural landscape where wild life try to find ways to live with fractured landscapes and loss of habitats.

The gold leaf details reference Kintsugi – the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with golden glue to emphasise the breaks, embracing its imperfection, to create something that is more beautiful and resilient.

The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world (Natural History Museum 2021).

If you would like to know more about the cyanotype process, or learn more about the Natural History Museum report  you can read about both on my blog.
