The Kiss of the Sun
Framed original cyanotype on conservation quality 300gsm watercolour paper, with gold ink detail. Presented in a white conservation quality mount with white wooden frame.
The Kiss of the Sun is one of an ongoing series of cyanotypes featuring a sundial. To find out more about how I started to use sundials in my work you can read my blog post called Wild Clocks which was originally featured in the British Sundial Society Bulletin in December 2020.
The title of this piece refers to a poem by Dorothy Frances Gurney written in 1913 called ‘God’s Garden’. It has a deeper meaning for me as the poem hung as a tapestry in my grandmothers kitchen in Ireland.
